Come for coffee, leave with community

An open fireplace to hole up beside in winter, a bright sunny courtyard for summer. Savour good food and drink, pull a game off the shelf, borrow a book, hold a meeting, or focus in our WiFi workspace — all at a no-rush pace. Everything is plant-based, and we run as a sustainable, low-waste café.

Our light-filled Studio at the back is where the wellness classes happen — and it doubles as extra cafe space and a home for events. Check the timetable for what's on each day. All levels welcome, mats provided.

The Loft

Calm and quiet, up near the sky

A peaceful room at the top of the building for one-to-one therapies and small group sessions. When it's not booked, it's a quiet space to hire for focused work — with fast WiFi and plenty of light.

About & ethos

Founded to give something back.

Grounded was founded by Sally Bayly, who wanted to give something back to the Rye community in thanks for the support her family received after a family tragedy. Its essence is community, inclusivity, making bonds and friendships, and taking time out. More than anything, we want to encourage a slower pace — an uplifting space where lasting friendships are made. Come in alone and someone will talk to you, if that's what you need; and if it's peace and quiet you're after, you'll find that too.
